Our Vision

Growing and Learning Together

At Balfour Infant School our vision is to nurture a joyful, inclusive and inspiring learning community where every child feels valued, supported and empowered. We are committed to providing the highest quality education that sparks curiosity, builds confidence and enables every child to reach their full potential. Through strong partnerships with families and the wider community, we develop the whole child; academically, socially and emotionally.  We hope that children leave us ready to be kind, capable and confident members of society as they move on to Key Stage 2.

Our Ethos

We aim to give every child a secure, stimulating start to their learning journey. Our aspirational curriculum offers exciting, fun and purposeful learning opportunities designed to engage all learners. We recognise each child as an individual with unique interests and needs, and we celebrate individuality and diversity so that every child feels respected, included and proud of who they are.

Children’s emotional and mental wellbeing sits at the heart of our practice. We believe every child has the right to learn in an environment where they feel safe, calm and valued. Our inclusive approach, underpinned by the promotion of British values, ensures that all children can flourish.

Our Values

We live our vision through clear values that guide everyday life at Balfour Infant School:

·       Respect  - We are polite and use good manners with everyone in our school community.  We look after our belongings and our school property.

  • Kindness – We are friendly and considerate towards each other.  We help our friends and school adults.
  • Teamwork  - We listen to and take care of one another.  We share and take turns.
  • Curiosity – We are keen and happy to learn.  We ask questions to find out more.
  • Self-belief – We try our best in everything we do.  We persevere even when tasks are challenging.
  • Independence – We try at first to do things by ourselves and solve problems when we can.  We ask for help when needed
