School Business Manager

Part time, 52 weeks per year 

Are you an experienced and motivated business professional looking to make a real difference in a vibrant school community? Balfour Infant School is seeking a dedicated School Business Manager to join our friendly and supportive team.

About the role:
As our School Business Manager, you will play a vital role in the strategic and operational leadership of our school. Working closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, and Governing Body, you will manage the school’s finances, human resources, premises, contracts and compliance, ensuring the smooth running of all non-teaching aspects of school life.

Key responsibilities:

• Overseeing finance, HR, premises, marketing and administration functions
• Preparing and managing the school budget, financial returns and reports
• Supporting the Headteacher in all aspects of personnel management and compliance
• Ensuring policies, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures are in place and maintained
• Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of our school site and facilities

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a relevant business, finance or personnel qualification, or has substantial relevant experience
• Has excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
• Is proficient in financial management systems (e.g. FMS, BPS) and Microsoft Office
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Thrives in a busy, collaborative school environment
